Bar or Bat Mitzvah Prep
Prerequisite
Students are expected to be able to decode voweled Hebrew text prior to starting Bar Mitzvah preparation. Hebrew training is available through Wednesday afternoon classes at Shabbat Shalom School.
Bar Mitzvah Training
At B'nai Emunah students study one-on-one with Cantor Linda and Rabbi Mark in preparation for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah Preparation includes:
- Haftarah Trope
- Torah Trope
- Selections from the Torah Service and Musaf
- Writing and Delivering a D'var Torah
Students are expected to attend services regularly prior to their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, in order to become faimiliar with the Saturday Morning service.

Our Story
We were founded in 1949 by German-speaking Jews, many of whom spent WW II in Japanese-occupied Shanghai.
Today, we are about 100 family units with diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
We are affiliated with the Conservative Movement.
