Slipping Into Slihot -- Returning to Our True Identity

We begin the High Holyday season by coming together for Selichot. This is a warm-up for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. We will turn our minds and hearts toward G-d through study and prayer, as we hear the familiar High Holyday melodies anew.
All are welcome to attend. No tickets are needed.

- 9:30 - 11:15 PM - Learning Sessions
- Rabbi Mark Melamut - "Returning to Ourselves: Tshuva in Text and Practice"
- Batshir Torchio - "Returning to G-d's House"
- Frank Kurtz - "Returning to Jewish Identity: Issues and Prospects Facing Conservative Judaism and Us"
- 11:15 PM - 12:15 am - Selichot Service led by Rabbi Mark and Cantor Linda
Rabbi Mark Melamut is the Spiritual Leader of Congregation B'nai Emunah. He is a 2008 graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
Batshir Torchio is a Jewish Studies Instruction at Brandeis-Hillel Day School. She is also a student at the Academy of Jewish Religion | CA.
Frank Kurtz is a longtime member of B'nai Emunah and is the incoming president of the Pacific region of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
