Purim 2017

Homemade Hamentaschen & Mishloach Manot Bags (“Purim Gift Bags”) are Back!

Hamentashen for Purim

Congregation B’nai Emunah’s Sisterhood is bringing back the wonderful mitzvah of providing “Shlach Manot” bags to our members who are shut-in, while also offering

these to members who want to order and deliver them to friends or family.  The mitzvah of giving mishloach or shlach manot is spelled out in the Book of Esther in which we send gifts of food to each other on the holiday of Purim.

The bags contain home-made hamentashen cookies, candies, fresh fruit, chocolate, dried fruits and nuts.
They will be available for pick-up at Congregation B’nai Emunah during office hours (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) March 6  through March 10, or during Shabbat services on March 11, 2017.

Please indicate how many bags you are ordering for you to deliver to family or friends.  Phone the synagogue in advance of picking them up to make sure the office is staffed at that time.  (415-664-7373)

(NOTE:  Sisterhood will only deliver bags to our more senior members who are shut-in and do not drive.)

Deadline to receive your order is Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Price: two bags for $36.00. Each additional bag is $10.00.

Remember: Purim is March 12th, so you need to pick-up the bags from the synagogue office between March 6 and March 10 or Shabbat March 11th.
